Your data, explained.
DeepLap is a focus timer for iPhone and Apple Watch by Small Modules. There is no account and no server of ours. This page says where your data lives and what, if anything, leaves your device.

What DeepLap stores
- Your focus records, categories, and timer settings, in the app's own storage on your device.
- No account is created. DeepLap contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking code, and sends nothing to Small Modules on its own.
iCloud sync
- If your device is signed in to iCloud, DeepLap keeps your timer state, settings, and your most recent 240 records in sync across your devices through Apple's iCloud Key-Value storage. The data travels through Apple's servers under your Apple Account; Small Modules cannot read it.
- To stop syncing, turn DeepLap off under Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Saved to iCloud (or "See All" → DeepLap). The app keeps working on each device separately. Turning it off there also removes the synced copy from iCloud.
- Older records beyond the most recent 240 stay on the device that recorded them. To move everything, use a backup file.
Apple Watch
- The Watch app mirrors the iPhone timer through Apple's Watch Connectivity. Sessions started on the Watch while the iPhone is unreachable are merged into the iPhone history when the devices reconnect.
Backups and deletion
- Settings → Data and backups exports and imports a JSON file through the Files app. A backup contains your records and categories, so choose where you keep or share it.
- Deleting the app deletes its local data. The iCloud copy of recent records stays until you turn DeepLap off in iCloud settings. Export a backup before changing devices if you rely on more than the synced recent records.
Permissions and external services
- Alarms (iOS 26) or Notifications (iOS 17–18): used only to alert you when focus or break ends.
- Shortcuts: the optional "DeepLap Focus" shortcut is installed from Apple's iCloud Shortcuts page and runs in Apple's Shortcuts app. DeepLap only asks Shortcuts to run it; it does not read your Focus settings.
- Interface translations are bundled and work offline. Your text is never sent to a translation service.
Support email
- If you write to smallmodules@gmail.com, we keep your message and any diagnostics you attach only to answer you, and delete them when the matter is closed. Ask at any time and we delete them sooner.
- Diagnostics you share from Settings → About and support describe timer state and timing. They never include your categories, notes, or individual records.

- deeplap.pages.dev is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Cloudflare may keep standard server logs under its own policy.
