Your first session

Start with focus.
Finish with a break.

Start with 25 minutes of focus and a 5-minute break. Adjust the next cycle on the timer without changing your defaults.

Choose a category. Start the timer.

Study, Work, Reading, Exercise, or your own: create up to 20 categories. The dial uses your chosen category color so you can tell sessions apart.

No pause button during focus

Focus sessions run without pauses. Need to stop? After at least one minute, you can save the elapsed time as a partial record. It won't count as a completed cycle.

Your break starts automatically

An alarm marks the end of focus, and the break begins. You can pause the break or finish it early. Dismissing the alarm stops the sound, not the break timer.

Apple Watch

A glance at your wrist.
Back to your task.

Apple Watch shows the same countdown as your iPhone and lets you start a session from your wrist. You can also check the countdown on the iPhone Lock Screen, in the Dynamic Island (iOS 18 or later), and in the Apple Watch Smart Stack.

  • Start on your wrist. Leave your iPhone in your bag.Sessions started while your iPhone is out of reach are added to your history when the devices reconnect.
  • One sound setting across your devicesTurn alarm sound off on Apple Watch and it turns off on iPhone too. The same works in reverse.

Will an alarm sound in a library?

Turn off alarm sound with the timer's speaker button to silence it across your devices. Alerts still appear, with vibration when enabled. With sound on, iOS 26 system alarms sound through Silent Mode and Focus. On iOS 17–18, notifications follow the Silent switch.

Why can't I pause a focus session?

DeepLap treats each focus session as an uninterrupted stretch of time. If you need to stop after at least one minute, you can save the elapsed time as a partial record. You can pause breaks whenever you need to.

Can I use Apple Watch without an iPhone?

You need an iPhone with DeepLap installed. Once paired, you can start and end sessions on Apple Watch while your iPhone is out of reach. Those sessions are added to your history when the devices reconnect.

Where are my records? Can I move them?

Records are stored on your devices. iCloud syncs timer state, settings, and your latest 240 records through Apple's servers. To move all your records, use a JSON backup in Settings. See the privacy policy.

Can I request a refund?

Apple handles purchases and decides whether to approve refunds. You can submit a request at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something isn't working, you can also email us so we can help.

Support

Need a hand?

Email smallmodules@gmail.com. Tell us your iPhone or Apple Watch model, your iOS or watchOS version, and what went wrong.

To attach diagnostics, go to Settings → About and support → Share diagnostics. Diagnostics contain timer state and timing information, but no categories, notes, or individual records.

Alarms & sound

  • Your break starts when focus ends. Dismissing the alarm only stops the sound; the break may already be running. Ending a break does not remove the completed focus record.
  • The speaker button on the timer screen turns alarm sound on or off across your devices. With sound off, alerts still appear. They also vibrate if haptics are enabled for that phase.
  • On iOS 26, end-of-session alerts use system alarms that sound through Silent Mode and Focus when alarm sound is on. On iOS 17–18, DeepLap uses Time Sensitive notifications. These can come through Focus, subject to your notification settings, and follow the Silent switch.
  • Apple Watch uses watchOS notification sounds and follows its Silent Mode setting. Haptics continue in Silent Mode.
  • A sound preview in Settings doesn't test whether an alarm will arrive while your screen is locked. Try a 1-minute focus session to check.

Focus shortcut: Do Not Disturb

  • iOS doesn't let apps change Focus directly. To control Do Not Disturb, install this shortcut once: DeepLap Focus. Leave the shortcut's name unchanged.
  • Starting a focus session runs the shortcut and turns on Do Not Disturb until the session's scheduled end. Ending early runs the same shortcut with the input "end" to turn Do Not Disturb off. Any Focus mode that was active beforehand is not restored.
  • To use a different Focus mode, edit both Set Focus actions in the shortcut.
